Wildlife Cyber Investigations

Wildlife Cyber Investigations was started in 2020 by Patrick Murray, a game warden in the Pacific Northwest. He started to see a trend in poaching reports coming in from the public. Many of them were from social media: Facebook, Instagram and others. After taking multiple courses in open source intelligence (OSINT) and social media intelligence (SOCMINT) through various companies they all had one thing in common. They were all targeted at regular law enforcement.

As my fellow conservation officer's know, investigating wildlife crimes can be very different from normal police work. The courses we created are specifically geared towards investigating wildlife crimes.

Patrick started his natural resource career teaching conservation at the San Diego Zoo for several years before working in Kenya and South Africa on various conservation issues. He returned and took a job as a Park Ranger before becoming a Game Warden.

Years before this Patrick was involved in the computer sciences field. He helped business set up their networks and protect their assets on the internet. Combining these two fields Patrick will help you get more out of your online investigations.
